Who should pick which
- Pick ChatGPT if you just chat, draft and ask questions: stay on the free plan. Pay for Plus only if you hit limits every day or need advanced reasoning, expanded deep research or Codex. Go ($8/month) sits in between and may show ads.
- Pick Claude if you write or edit long pieces, or work with long PDFs and reports. Claude's free plan includes web search, file creation and memory.
- Pick Perplexity if you want answers from the live web with a citation on every answer, for research, news or fact-checking.
