Suno vs Udio
Last updated · Prices change often; confirm on each tool's site.
Pick Suno: as of October 2026 it's the one you can download songs from, while Udio has disabled audio, video and stem downloads on every plan since its October 2025 partnership with Universal Music Group. Both have free tiers and $10/month entry plans, but Suno Pro is the plan that gets you downloadable songs with commercial-use rights.
Quick comparison
| Tool | Free tier | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suno | 50 credits a day (about 10 songs); personal, non-commercial use only | Pro $10/mo ($8/mo yearly) · Premier $30/mo | Songs you can download, post and release |
| Udio | 10 credits a day, plus 100 extra a month | Standard $10/mo ($8/mo yearly) · Pro $30/mo | Generating and listening inside Udio (downloads disabled) |
Who should pick which
- Pick Suno if you need music for YouTube, TikTok, a game or a release on Spotify. Subscribe before you make the songs you'll use: commercial rights cover songs made while you're on Pro or Premier, and upgrading later doesn't license songs made on the free plan.
- Pick Udio if you only want to experiment and listen inside the app. Udio says it's in a transition period while it prepares new models and product experiences with Universal Music Group.

FAQ
Can I download songs from Udio?
Not right now. Udio's help center says downloading of audio, video and stems has been disabled since the Universal Music Group partnership (October 29, 2025), and paid plans don't list downloads as a feature.
Can I use Suno songs commercially?
Only songs made while you're subscribed to Pro or Premier. Songs made on the free plan are for non-commercial use, and a later subscription doesn't apply to them retroactively.
Is Suno free?
Yes. Suno's free plan gives 50 credits a day, which Suno says is enough for about 10 songs, on its best free model, for non-commercial use.
